If I fits, I sits
There's nothing like starting your day with back to back conference calls. Oh and having a manager call you out on being tired. Yeah I scheduled the meeting but I keep forgetting this important step of going to bed at a decent time. Anyways the first one blew big time, the 2nd was a keeper. Turns out my lovely mentee thought because he's on light duty he doesn't have to do conference calls. I swear it was everything in my power not to drive to Wichita and beat the hell out of him. He knows better! This younger generation is really testing the limits of my patience as of late.
My afternoon was much more accomplished. I whipped through several crafty projects that I've been putting off for too long. Now my office is clean and I feel accomplished! While I was working on my modge podging and sewing I was also texting H and Clint. H called first to tell me he'd been offered to work in Lincoln NE and ask my opinion. Now he does the same job as me but as an independent contractor, so when you get work you should take it. He was debating not doing it because there aren't direct flights home and he had a 75% chance of working back in Dallas. UMMMMMMMM, this is for the zone, the opportunity he's been waiting for and he honestly thought about not taking it. About an hour later Clint called me asking if I knew that H was going to NE. Of course I knew, but I love how he called to make sure I knew. Now apparently I have to plan a trip to NE to see both of them.
The weirdest part of my phone call with H is how it ended. He was getting his daughter home from school and talking partly to me and partly to her. He was back to being very sweet and kind again and when he said goodbye he ended with love you lots. This totally threw me. I mean I barely stammered out a good bye. Don't get me wrong I do love him, and I know he loves me, but I was very unaware we were saying it out loud. Again this is a platonic love, but I think I'm starting to understand why his Missy is so attached. If he treats her with half the sweetness he does me, it's no wonder she's gaga for him. Thankfully I've not had to hear about her in several weeks, although I'm sure she'll come visit and he'll ask for ideas. UGH!
And now I'm going to veg out. One of my favorite shows, Royal Pains, is back on. Bring on the Hamptons and some doctoring.
