Projects

I am a really crafty person.  I love being able to show people what I made.  I don't undertake too large of a project as I like immediate gratification.  My exception to that rule is crocheting.  I was shown about 8 years ago how to do a basic stitch and stuck to it.  I mainly made scarves and some small baby blankets.

Right after Thanksgiving I commented to my friend Kati that I wanted more skills.  She logged that info away, until she went to a neighborhood cookie exchange.  One of her neighbors, the lovely Sharon, is a crochet queen!  We all met up one evening and now I know additional stitches and how to read a pattern.

Below was a practice scarf using a triple crochet and I've done one with double.  Now I'm going to tackle my first pattern.  It's a blanket for my niece and involves a bobble stitch and ruffle trim.  I'm so excited to have this scarf done and embark on the blanket!  I've learned that I cannot start more than one project at a time, I've a tendency to not finish.  I'll post my finished product.  This weekend is supposed to be cold and snowy, perfect for sitting on the couch with a project.
