Worrying Wednesday

Someone's personalized gift bag for Santa presents

The same someone jamming out to Charlie Brown Christmas

Today was a bit nervewracking.  I started out with a normal conference call and then got a deployment email.  I was afraid this would happen.  I called my boss and we called some other people and got no answers.  I ran some errands, still no call backs.  Sooooo I resorted to email, deployment canceled.  Whew!  I was quite nervous I'd have to pack it all back up and drive out to work for 3 days!  Now this evening my new boss sent out an email asking if we'd volunteer for a 30 day commitment.  I'd totally go but with my job title swapping in the middle he doesn't think it's possible.  I'm ok with that too.

So here's the deal, apparently the Gov of NY threw down the law and did not extend inspection times.   Sooooo my company has roughly 60,000 claims filed in NY most have to be paid by Dec 16.  This is a huge task as not too many are closed right now, even though it's a month in.  Our centralized environments, particularly the one in MD, have send almost 50% of their staff.  They finally called in zone help which is where my new job comes in.  I've been speculating why the Gov would do this, but I think it's in part to take the heat off the gas and electric companies and their poor responses.  Make someone else look like a bad guy.  Either way I think I'm still safe from going.  Yay me!  Plus NY is where my ex is and I'm not really fond of going anywhere near him.

Tonight is all about good TV.  Charlie Brown Christmas, Modern Family and Nashville!
