Yes that date says 1/11/98. The BFF and I are somewhere in Ireland.
this should be next to the definition of lounging in the dictionary
Today was a nothing special day. I didn't have any inspections and spent my day doing misc paperwork and scheduling my appts for next week. I did get to have a long talk with my manager mentor William. He definitely thinks I'm selling myself short by not recognizing the affect I can have on others. He's been telling me this for years and I work on it all the time. I can easily sway an entire room into doing or believing whatever I want them too. I have a pull/magnetism on others that I don't always see. He thinks that I'd be fulfilled in my dream job, but ultimately the sense of accomplishment and helping others can only be achieved by being a manager. Thankfully I can do my dream job and if I want to move up I can still be developed. The best part is that doing it that way I'll make more money, which really is always a good thing.
Tonight I went out! For once I was social, a manager is leaving and decided to have a group of us over to clean out his fridge. Brats burgers corn mushrooms chicken chips yummmmm. The funny thing is I was the only girl and I'm the youngest! It was great times and good conversation. Just what I needed! I actually feel a little bit more normal. Not being social can really affect me, I didn't even say too much but just being with others, outside of work is enough to balance me out. I needed a release of some sort.
Tomorrow's gonna be an interesting day. I have 3 claims way south of the office, like 2 hours south and in some real sketchy territory. 2 of my claims don't even have addresses. On my last one the directions are to go to the post office, the house is one mile above it. She told me that's correct and I need to look for a red white and blue umbrella. I told my managers that I should be done inspecting no later than 4 and back by 6, if they don't see or hear from me by 7, send out the search party. There are several counties in southern WV that have very bad reputations. It's much more mountainous down there and much more back woods. They have some of the nations worst levels of education and most work in the coal mines or run meth labs. Thankfully it's a one day trip and I'm sure it won't be bad at all. I'm tough, I can find my way! Wish me luck.
