36 hours in MD

Me and the work hubs Clint

So my trip to MD was a success.  I got in at 6:45 on Sat night and did not sober up until sometime overnight last night.  IT WAS AWESOME!  My boys know how to make a girl feel welcome.  Sat night was sushi, Brad and Michaels apt for pre bar drinks, then bar.  We went to a place called Monkey La La's.  It was a hole in the wall having 80's night.  Just so much fun!  Before I knew it, it was bar close and we were back in a cab.  Clint and I spend the night at Brad and Michael's, because well it's just easier.  What isn't easier is sleeping on a queen size air mattress, with your work husband, who snores and throws limbs!  (his 6'2" please keep in mind, lots of limbs!) And even worse than that, sharing a FULL size bed with the same man.  I woke up twice last night, once his leg over mine and the second his leg still on mine but my arm fully extended touching his back on the other side of the bed.  Apparently I pushed his head as far away from me as possible.

Yesterday was pretty fun.  Michael woke us up entirely too early for the time we actually went to bed.  We spent the morning drinking coffee (Starbucks thank you very much to my hubby for getting it for me) and watching Project X, and trying to decide between fully sobering up or just drinking again.  After I convinced them to make me a pizza we voted on drinking.  Later in the afternoon Brad made us a ribs and baked potatoes, and we watched Bridesmaids while it poured rain.  Then Fred decided we had to go to the bar to watch the Broncos v 49'ers game, so off we went.  What was supposed to be 2 beers and only the first half turned into too many beers, the full game, and convincing the bartender to let us watch The Weather Channel.

Clint and I finally made it back to his hotel about 9pm.  I was dying for shower and unfortunately he had to call his girlfriend.  After all was said and done we were laying in bed watching more The Weather Channel.  I started to laugh that if we ever got married that would be our life.  Laying in bed, kinda buzzed, watching the weather for work purposes

I was talking to the BFF on my way back to WV this am and was telling her about all my fun, when she put two and two together.  My life with this group of guys/men is just like when we were in college freshman year and all our boys lived in the Dog House.  All the boys live in the same apt complex, but everyone migrates to Michael and Brad's because they are on the first floor.  There's a jar to leave money for meals and beer, and you bring your own chair or find one in the dumpster, if you can't pay you do dishes or cook.  It's JUST like being in college except we all have jobs that we respect and money to actually pay for things.  I'm sad it's a 4.25 hr drive one way, BUT I may have to make another trip next month.

I found out today I'm not being released to work Hurricane Isaac.  My boss and I will be the last people standing out here in WV.  Um yay?  But this may mean we get to work the winter in MN aka at HOME!  This is all speculation because in a month I could have a new job.  My boss out here is prepping me starting tomorrow for the interview process.  It makes me nervous as I don't like being told I'm not doing something right or I don't know something.  Here's hoping I don't eff it up too much tomorrow.
